We define what specialized care looks like through our 15 condition-specific Therapeutic Resource Centers (TRC), which allow us to provide care uniquely tailored to the individual needs of our patients. Through this one-of-a-kind clinical model, we connect patients with specialist pharmacists, nurses and other pharmacy experts who have extensive training and experience in specific disease states and medications, anytime, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.* Our goal is to ensure patients have a more personalized and proactive pharmacy experience from experts who know all there is to know about their condition, and who take the time to understand their circumstances.
As an example, Accredo patients with an immune disorder are supported by our Immune Disorder TRC and achieve an adherence rate 27% higher than retail pharmacies. These patients also have our Accredo nursing staff available 24/7/365 to provide prescription education, clinical counseling and assistance with medical devices. This level of support helps to prevent catastrophic events for patients and avoid costs for payers. Accredo patients served out of our Multiple Sclerosis TRC achieve an 85% average adherence rate because of features like our therapy management protocols, including a proprietary depression screening designed specifically with MS patients in mind. Achieving good adherence in MS can result in better everyday life for patients, keeping them out of the ER and even lowering annual medical costs by $5,400.
