Crohn’s disease is an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that affects the digestive tract. The cause of crohn’s disease is unknown.
How common is crohn’s disease
Crohn’s disease may affect as many as 780,000 Americans. Both men and women are equally affected. It can occur at any age, but it is more prevalent between the ages of 15 and 35.1
There is no cure for Crohn’s disease, but the disease can be kept under control with treatment.2

Symptoms
What are the symptoms of crohn’s disease
The most common symptoms of Crohn’s disease include diarrhea, abdominal pain, weight loss, fatigue, and fever. Symptoms like mouth sores, skin problems, eye inflammation, fistulas, and abscesses may also be present.1
How is it diagnosed?
Crohn’s disease is diagnosed by evaluating a combination of symptoms, laboratory tests, x-rays, endoscopy and colonoscopy.
